Inter are planning to try and persuade Napoli to sell Lorenzo Insigne with a player-plus-cash offer.

This according to today’s print edition of Naples-based newspaper Il Mattino, who report that the Nerazzurri are hoping that part of the Partenopei’s €30 million valuation for the 30-year-old can be met with the inclusion of a player going the other way.

The Nerazzurri are working on their strategy to try and sign the Napoli captain following a meeting with agent Vincenzo Pisacane on Wednesday, and they believe that a player-plus-cash deal could be the best way for them to proceed.

It remains to be seen if the Campania-based club would be amenable to being convinced by such an offer, and the success of Inter’s approach could depend on how much the player is liked by Napoli.

The Nerazzurri are still in the exploratory stage with regards to a move for Insigne, but their strategy to bring him in is beginning to take shape.
