Inter’s new right-back from The Netherlands will not be available in time to play any role in this evening’s friendly match against Dynamo Kyiv, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Dutchman still has some medical examinations to undergo before he can be officially announced by the club as a new Inter player.

It is expected that the PSV Eindhoven defender will be officially announced this weekend, possibly as early as today. He has been chased by Inter all summer but the financial stress that the Nerazzurri are under meant that he remained out of reach.

That changed when the club suddenly sold Romelu Lukaku to European Champions Chelsea, and PSV Eindhoven realised that if they do not drop their asking price, they will be left with a very unhappy player and a missed opportunity to raise some money.
