Empoli are still holding out hope of signing young Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti ahead of the new campaign, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by FcINternews, representatives from the Tuscan club will be meeting with Inter before the end of the summer transfer window to try and find a final agreement with the Nerazzurri.

Empoli have just been promoted back to Serie A and they are clearly serious about trying to remain in the division as they have just finalised the loan signing of Patrick Cutrone from Wolverhampton Wanderers, who used to play for AC Milan.

It is known that Inter have been very open to selling Andrea Pinamonti this summer as he is old enough to be considered a fringe player rather than a young prospect.

The sale of Romelu Lukaku means it could be wise to keep Andrea Pinamonti but then Edin Dzeko’s arrival may change that again.
