Inter will take a careful approach to the minor injury that Lautaro Martinez is currently dealing with so that he is ready for the second game of the season, Italian media report.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lautaro Martinez will not train with the club for the next few days with the aim of being fully fit for the match against Hellas Verona. This news seemingly rules him out of the opening fixture at home to Genoa.

The Argentine has a muscle injury that the club are wary of aggravating by rushing his return. This means that Edin Dzeko, if signed in time, will probably start up front for Inter against Genoa with either Martin Satriano or Andrea Pinamonti alongside, or Hakan Calhanoglu just behind in the number 10 role.

Alexis Sanchez is not expected to be fit in time for the game but should return around the same time as Lautaro Martinez.
