Some discussions have taken place between Atalanta and Inter representatives over the possible transfer of Duvan Zapata, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the two clubs are slightly apart in their valuations of the Colombian striker but the gap is not impossible to close.

Inter would be willing to pay around €30 million for the 30-year-old but Atalanta would be expecting a fee of just over €40 million.

Inter may decide that the striker is not worth that amount of money given his age and pivot towards Lazio’s Joaquin Correa instead who would be available for €30 million as well as some bonuses.

As things stand, the Argentine looks like the most likely final piece of the attacking jigsaw for Inter and Simone Inzaghi.

A director from Atalanta was present at Inter’s friendly win over Dynamo Kyiv last night which could be a sign of negotiations.
