Inter’s newest player has been speaking about his pride in joining a club as big as Inter and how excited he is to get started, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking to the club’s official channel, Inter TV, after the friendly win over Dynamo Kyiv, Denzel Dumfries discussed what it means to him to sign for a club like Inter. The move represents a huge step forward in his career.

“It’s a wonderful feeling, I’m very happy to join the Champions. Italy, it’s a great opportunity for me, I’m really happy.”

The Dutch wing-back also talked about how comfortable he is in the 3-5-2 system that Simone Inzaghi will be using at Inter because it is the same system that The Netherlands routinely used under Frank De Boer.

“I’m obviously a winger who likes to attack, I feel good in the five-man line: Inter plays with this system as well as the Dutch national team, I feel at ease.”

Denzel Dumfries now becomes the second Dutch player in the Inter squad as he joins international teammate Stefan de Vrij. According to the ex-PSV Eindhoven defender, the pair of very good friends and look forward to playing with one and other.

“I’ve talked to Stefan several times, he’s a friend of mine, we come from the same city and I know him very well. It’s nice to be his new teammate.”
