Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal has yet to show his best form in preseason, and is behind a number of of other players in the thinking of head coach Simone Inzaghi.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Chilean is still far from being a first-choice option for the manager even though he could be set to stay at the club next season.

Vidal has played a total of 86 minutes in pre-season friendlies against Crotone, Parma, and Dynamo Kiev, but has never fully impressed or looked to be at his best.

As such, Inzaghi is thought to be ready to rely upon not only Matias Vecino but also Roberto Gagliardini, currently out with an injury, ahead of Vidal.

The 34-year-old could still do more to impress the coach and cement more of a place for himself in the team, but for now he is not as high in the pecking order as he had initially been under Antonio Conte.
