Inter are working on finding an agreement on a contract extension with Croatian winger Ivan Perisic, which would see him remain on with the club until the end of June 2023.

This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who report that the club’s aim is to spread out the remaining salary on his current deal over one further season.

Perisic’s future has not been immediately clear this summer, with links away to a number of clubs as the club have considered trying to sell him for a fee rather than allowing him to depart next summer for free, but he now looks set for a stay next season.

The 32-year-old could leave next summer as a free agent when his current deal expires, but the club are hoping to keep him on for one further season.

Perisic is currently set to earn €5 million net on the final year of his contract, and the Nerazzurri are aiming to spread this amount out over one further season, though it could be tough to convince the player to agree to this arrangement.
