Italian agent Giocondo has weighed in on the striker situation at Inter, suggesting that the club will need to sign at least one further attacking reinforcement following the arrival of Edin Dzeko.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Tuttomercatoweb.com, the agent gave a frank assessment of the situation that the Nerazzurri are juggling as they look to rebuild their forward line following the departure of Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku’s sale to Chelsea sent shockwaves through the Nerazzurri world, and his departure has made the future uncertain with respect to the quality of Inter’s attack next season.

Dzeko has come in from Roma, but he alone will not be able to replace the Belgian, and so Martorelli emphasizes the importance of finding the right final piece to give head coach Simone Inzaghi a squad that can compete on all fronts headed into next season.

Lukaku’s loss is a difficult one, but Martorelli believes that it was one brought about by difficult circumstances.

“Faced with an important offer, Lukaku took the road to London,” he said, “Inter needed to raise cash and if such an offer arrives, it makes sense to give in.”

Of Dzeko, Martorelli stated that “He is a great player but his signing is not enough. Inter also need to find another striker, because the season is long and there are also other competitions.”

Finally, the agent gave his opinion on the situation of Lautaro Martinez, and whether or not the Argentine would leave at some point.

He said, “It depends. If the player did not want to extend his contract, the club would be forced to sell it in order not to bring in less in the future.”
