Inter are still planning to try and bring in Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez, who is determined to join the Nerazzurri and whose relationship with his current club has broken down.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri will move for the 25-year-old once space is made in their midfield, and that links to Tottenham and the Premier League are unlikely to tempt him.

Nandez has been an Inter target for much of the summer, with the club having been reportedly close to a deal for him when he was considered a replacement for Achraf Hakimi on the right.

However, once Romelu Lukaku was sold the Nerazzurri quickly moved for top right-sided target Denzel Dumfries, and Cagliari became skeptical of their preferred terms of a €3 million paid loan with a purchase option and pulled out of talks.

Even so, the versatile Uruguayan remains a target for Inter, and once Lucien Agoume departs on loan he could be signed as a midfield reinforcement.

Tottenham have reportedly registered a strong interest in the midfielder, but talks have only been with the Rossoblu and not with the player or his entourage, and Nandez remains focused on making the switch to Inter.

As with other Premier League clubs Leeds United and West Ham United, Spurs’ interest could fail to convince the Uruguayan, but could push Inter to make a more serious offer.

The player’s relationship with the Rossoblu appears to have broken down completely, and his future looks to be away from his current club, but the Sardinians are still waiting for a better offer from the Nerazzurri than the €3 million paid loan initially put forward, and this could determine whether the move is successful or not.
