Inter are working on extending the contract of defender Stefan de Vrij, with talks ongoing between the club and the Dutchman’s agent Mino Raiola.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the club and Raiola have moved onto extending the 29-year-old’s deal past 2023 when it currently expires after completing the move for Denzel Dumfries from PSV.

De Vrij is an important player for the Nerazzurri, having formed part of the Scudetto-winning defense last season alongisde Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar, and the club will not want to let the expiration of his contract approach without dealing with his situation.

De Vrij joined Inter from Lazio on a free transfer in the summer of 2018, and has since made 124 appearances in his three seasons at the club, scoring seven goals in the process and helping lead the club to their first Scudetto in eleven years under manager Antonio Conte.
