Inter president Steven Zhang has given CEO Beppe Marotta his word that Lautaro Martinez will not be sold.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the club have resisted interest in the Argentine including an €80 million offer from Tottenham which could have risen to over €100 million with add-ons, and that the President has made clear that no more major sales will be made.

After the sale of Achraf Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain and then especially the unexpected departure of Romelu Lukaku after a massive offer arrived from Chelsea, Marotta wants assurances that the squad will not be dismantled any further.

Zhang has reportedly given him this, specifically with regards to the situation of Martinez, in whom there is still significant interest from major European clubs.

Inter are reportedly set to meet with the Argentine’s agent tomorrow to discuss a contract extension, and Zhang has made clear to Marotta that the priority is to do everything to keep him at the club amid interest from elsewhere.
