Inter want to extend the midfielder of Nicolo Barella soon, and will look to do so after wrapping up talks on a new deal for Lautaro Martinez.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who reported on air moments ago that the 24-year-old is set to be offered a new deal as the club look to secure his future.

Barella’s current contract runs until the end of June 2024, but the Nerazzurri want to make sure that his long-term future with the club is committed and that interested clubs are warded off of him.

To this end, they will hope to begin work on agreeing a contract renewal with the midfielder shortly after the transfer window closes.

Signs are very positive that Martinez will agree a new deal soon after a meeting with the Argentine’s agent, and the club’s first priority has been renewing with the Argentine whose current deal expires at the end of June 2023, but after him will come Barella.
