Inter are in talks with Portuguese giants Benfica on a two-year loan deal for Nerazzurri wing-back Valentino Lazaro.

This according to German tabloid Bild, who report that the Lisbon-based club have not given up on the Austrian and want to sign him on a loan deal, which reportedly would not include a purchase option.

Benfica have been among the clubs tracking Lazaro most closely this summer, and it appears that they could be close to bringing the 25-year-old in.

The Portuguese are making a major effort to convince the Nerazzurri and the player on a deal, which would be for a two-year dry loan.

Lazaro has failed to cement a place for himself at Inter since arriving from Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2019, and while he is currently training with the first team he is not in the future plans of head coach Simone Inzaghi and could look to jump-start his career in the Portuguese capital.
