Inter look set to extend striker Lautaro Martinez’s contract, with the club coming close to agreement on a new five year deal with the Argentine in a meeting with his agent this afternoon.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported on air moments ago that the meeting between the Nerazzurri and Alejandro Camano has concluded in a positive manner.

According to the report the parties are edging close to agreeing on a five-year extension for the striker which will see him earn €6 million net per season.

The 23-year-old’s situation at Inter has been up in the some of the air, with uncertainty as to whether he would sign a new deal amid interest from a number of major European clubs.

However, Martinez wants to commit his future to the Nerazzurri, and in the meeting the club and his agent look to have come very close on the question of salary as the player expects that the terms of his new deal will reflect his importance to the club.

The new deal is far from being agreed but these developments suggest that an agreement could be found soon, possibly a few days after the end of the summer transfer window.
