Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini’s recovery is proceeding according to schedule, and he could return to fitness soon.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 27-year-old is not facing any major issues as he seeks to overcome the injury setback and return to the team.

Gagliardini suffered a knee injury in training a few weeks ago, and the club have been careful with his recovery process, making sure he has been properly assessed and not rushing him back.

The midfielder has been healing well and should not be out with the injury longer than expected, though he is still set to miss another few weeks as he fully recovers.

Gagliardini will not play in the Nerazzurri’s Serie A opener against Genoa this weekend and is not likely to play against Verona in their second matchday fixture either, but could return after the international break.
