Inter look set to start the Serie A opener against Genoa on Saturday with Stefano Sensi playing off Edin Dzeko in an attacking pairing.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi will reprise the system he used in the final friendly against Dynamo Kiev last weekend, due to a current lack of options up front.

Lautaro Martinez will miss the Genoa match through suspension, while Alexis Sanchez is ruled out with an injury, leaving the club with limited resources in attack given that another forward signing has yet to be made.

New signing Dzeko will start and Sensi will play as an attacking midfielder behind him in a 3-5-1-1 system, while Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu will almost certainly be the two midfielders more advanced behind the duo.

Meanwhile, Ivan Perisic will likely start on the left, and Matteo Darmian on the right, while young striker Martin Satriano is still in contention to appear in the match following his excellent preseason.
