Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is asking for €8 million net per season as a salary should he sign a contract extension with the club.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who reported earlier this evening that the 23-year-old and the Nerazzurri are working to agree on a new deal.

However, the report continues that there is still some work left to be done before the parties agree on the wages.

Since the Nerazzurri are looking to extend the contract of a player already in Italy, they will not benefit from the Italian Growth Decree when paying taxes on his wages, as they would were they offering a deal to a player to sign from outside the country.

For this reason, the club are negotiating the Argentine’s wages in gross terms, and this could complicate how much they can offer the striker.

However, the club believe that they can meet the player’s demands with the inclusion of add-ons, and that an agreement can be reached following more talks expected soon.
