Borussia Monchengladbach Sporting Director Max Eberl has confirmed that Inter target Marcus Thuram could be sold before the end of the transfer window.

Speaking to German news outlet Fussball.news, the executive stated that the Bundesliga side are hoping to keep hold of the 24-year-old, but stated that a sale is also possible.

Thuram has emerged as a target for Inter in their search for a striker this summer, though it remains to be seen whether or not the club would be able to bring in the Frenchman before the transfer window shuts.

Eberl’s update on the player’s situation will come as mixed news, with the Sporting Director making clear that Gladbach’s first choice would not be to sell them, but also stating that anything would be possible for the player.

More can be expected on the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of Thuram very soon, with the transfer window open for less than two remaining the week and the club ready to move for him and test Gladbach’s resolve.

“I cannot rule anything out until the end of the transfer market,” Eberl said of Thuram’s status, “however it is mere speculation. The main point is that we would be extremely reluctant to give up Marcus, we would only do so very reluctantly.”

Of the player, he said that “Marcus can score even more goals than he did last season. He has an incredible amount of potential, power and dynamism.”

He continued, “In the long run, the visible results were not enough, and Thuram can show even more. And doing it at Gladbach is definitely a good move for him.”
