Benfica are pushing to complete a loan move for Inter wing-back Valentino Lazaro, and they could get a deal over the line for him soon.

This according to German tabloid Bild, who report that the Portuguese giants want to bring the Austrian in on a two-year loan and that the formula for a potential purchase option remains to be agreed upon.

Lazaro is out of favour at the Giuseppe Meazza, having failed to establish himself in the team since his arrival from Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2019, and despite currently being in training with the first team having returned from a loan with Borussia Monchengladbach this summer he is expected to leave.

The 25-year-old has a number of suitors, but Benfica appear to be leading the chase, and could soon bring him to the Portuguese capital.

The Lisbon-based club, currently leading PSV 2-1 after the first leg of a Champions League group stage playoff, have been chasing Lazaro for several weeks now, and they could wrap up his signing soon.
