Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin has confirmed that Inter are no longer looking to sign Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata.

Reporting in a tweet on his official account, the transfer market expert explained that Zapata is no longer on the Nerazzurri’s list of possible arrivals and that right now Joaquin Correa from Lazio is the likeliest player to come in as a striker this summer, while the club could still move for Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram.

Zapata had been one of the first names to come up as Inter began their search for an attacking reinforcement to sign to replace Romelu Lukaku when it was clear that the Belgian was nearing the exit door, but it now appears that the club are no longer after him.

A number of possibilities remain, and the Nerazzurri will consider a number of factors as they make their final decision, but Zapata will not be the next striker at Inter.

Biasin’s tweet reads:

#Inter attack.
#Zapata it is no longer a possibility. –#Thuram, #Borussia considers him off the market, #Inter think of a lunge but, for the moment, he is not their first option.
And you will say, ‘ok, what is the first option?’ I’m not sure about this, probably #Correa.”
