Inter are looking to address the contract situation of three key players soon, with Marcelo Brozovic, Nicolo Barella, and Stefan de Vrij all hoped by the club to have their futures secured soon.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who note that of the trio it is Brozovic whose situation most imminently needs to be addressed.

Brozovic’s current deal runs out at the end of June 2022, and the Nerazzurri will not want there to be any chance that the Croatian could leave as a free agent should his deal run out next summer.

Renewal talks with the midfielder are expected soon, and he is expecting a wage increase to €5 million net per season, on par with new signing Hakan Calhanoglu, from the €4.2 million which he currently earns.

Stefan de Vrij is seeking a similar raise, though his deal expires in 2023 and his situation is therefore somewhat less imminent.

However, the club want to deal with the Dutchman’s contract in a timely manner, and his agent Mino Raiola is pressuring them to making a deal and considering the possibility of a move away, so talks are expected soon.

Meanwhile, Nicolo Barella still earns the net €2.5 million per season from the contract he signed with the club when joining from Cagliari in the summer of 2019, which runs out at the end of June 2024.

The player has expected that with the quality of his performances making him an important squad member he would receive a pay raise, and he looks set to receive one, with the club also aware that agreeing an extension with the 24-year-old would have the benefit of allowing them to annually amortize his wages.
