Inter are close to wrapping up contract talks with Lautaro Martinez, with the striker set to agree on a new deal running until the end of June 2026.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the details on the contract remain to be finalized, but that once that is done the Argentine will sign a new five-year deal.

One matter yet to be agreed upon is whether Martinez will sign a deal to run until 2025 with the option of a further year, as is the preference of the player and his agent, or if the deal will be for five years until 2026.

Another matter yet to be resolved is that the player is seeking a signing bonus as compensation for the fact that he did not have his contract extended last season, with the club yet to meet his request.

However, these details are expected to be ironed out between the parties soon, at which point the 23-year-old will commit his future to the club with a new deal worth about €6 million net per season.
