Inter are getting closer to the signing of forward Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach, with the 24-year-old having asked for a move away from his current club.

This according to German broadcaster Sky Sport Deutschland, who report that the Nerazzurri have had an offer of €22 million turned down for the Frenchman, with the German club asking for €30 million.

Thuram has emerged as a major target for Inter in their search for an attacking reinforcement before the transfer window closes, and they are now stepping up their pursuit of him.

The release clause in the player’s clause this summer was for €30 million, but it has already expires, and the clause will be for €45 million next summer.

The player has given his transfer request to his club through his agent, however, and it will be up to Inter and Gladbach to sort out whether a financial agreement can be found on the Frenchman before the end of the window.
