Inter are much more likely to wait until Lorenzo Insigne is available on a free transfer next summer rather than pay a fee for him this summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Corriere della Sera, Inter are probably going to sign either Marcus Thuram of Borussia Mönchengladbach or Joaquin Correa of Lazio rather than Lorenzo Insigne this summer.

The Neapolitan will cost Inter around €25 million if they were to sign him this summer but he is out of contract in June 2022. That means that from January 2022 he will be free to communicate with clubs about signing a contract for the 2022/23 season on a free transfer.

Inter and Simone Inzaghi are certainly interested in the player but it makes less sense to sign him this year.

AC Milan are still interested in signing him as well so a transfer saga could develop.
