Lazio Sporting Director Igli Tare has revealed that Joaquin Correa has his heart set on a move to Inter rather than any other club, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media this evening.

Speaking to Sky Sport, with quotes reported by GianlucaDiMarzio.com ahead of Lazio’s opening Serie A fixture of the season against Empoli, Igli Tare made it clear that the Argentine forward definitely wants to leave the Biancocelesti this summer and Inter is his preferred destination.

“Correa wants to leave Lazio, there is this possibility with Inter. Let’s see in the next few hours, but for us, he is an important player.”

There is serious interest in Joaquin Correa from Everton in the Premier League but that does not appear to interest the player, despite the fact he would likely earn more money there. He wishes to stay in Italy and Inter are the obvious option.

“There is also something abroad but he wants to stay in Italy. A real negotiation has not started, there are the wills of the parties, but nothing concrete.”

Igli Tare did stress that despite it being public knowledge that Joaquin Correa wants to leave the club this summer, he has not misbehaved or skipped training to try and force a move at any point.

“The important thing is that whoever stays here is happy to wear this shirt. Correa has always behaved well, even during the preparation. We must be patient and then we will decide one way or the other.”
