Inter’s new attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has explained how Inter’s main aim before the Genoa victory was to entertain the fans who were back in San Siro after so long away, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking to the club’s official TV channel, Inter TV, with quotes reported by FcInterNews, the Turkish midfielder showed that he is a natural-born entertainer following his wonderful debut performance for Inter.

The ex-AC Milan player set up the opening goal for Milan Skriniar and then scored the second goal from outside the box.

“I was calm last night. We wanted to entertain our fans, it was nice to see them again. We started well, we expected a match like this. We unlocked immediately. Then in the end other players who did well came in.”

Hakan Calhanoglu is known for scoring some extremely impressive goals from long distances during his career, and his goal against Genoa was no different.

When asked if it was the best of his career, he focused more on how it felt to score that goal in front of the Inter fans.

“I scored so many goals like this, I felt all the support of the fans who chanted my name. I want to give my best for these colours, thanks also to my teammates who welcomed me in the best way.”

The Turkish attacker explained how hard he has worked to be at a point where he can perform like this, and also thanked the fans for coming to the game.

“It’s a new season for me, we have worked a lot these days, we always work well and then, in the end, we will see. Thanks to all the fans who came here, always come to Inter.”
