The coach of Borussia Mönchengladbach has seemingly put an end to any chance that Inter will sign Marcus Thuram this summer after saying the player has committed himself to the side this season, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking after his side’s 4-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, with quotes reported by FCInter1908, Adi Hütter explained that Marcus Thuram has told him that he will be staying at the Bundesliga side this season and not forcing a move to Inter.

“He told me he would stay here. He still has a contract with Gladbach. We cannot discuss all market rumours. As long as he’s under contract here, I’ll work with him.”

Even if the player did try to make the move happen, it is not clear whether Inter would still be interested. The Frenchman was substituted on Saturday with what may have been collateral ligament damage in his knee.
