Inter could still find themselves signing Nahitan Nandez from Cagliari this summer despite the previous breakdown in talks, according to a report in the Italian print media today.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter could make a return to negotiations for the Uruguayan midfielder as Cagliari may now be more lenient with the figures they want to receive for the player.
The initial transfer broke down when the two clubs could not agree on the loan fee. Inter wanted to pay €2 million for the one-year loan, but the Sardinian side wanted €5 million.
Since then Atalanta have opened a dialogue with Cagliari for a swap deal involving the 25-year-old and Atalanta forward Sam Lammers. These talks are in an early stage and many different agreements would need to be reached.
Tottenham Hotspur suddenly emerged as a possible destination for Nahitan Nandez but they appear to no longer be pursuing that interest.
