Borussia Mönchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram, who has been heavily linked with a move to Inter over the past week, will face up to two months out injured according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by gianlucadimarzio.com, the French forward will be out of action for around two months after he suffered a serious knee injury in his team’s recent 4-0 defeat away at Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

Marcus Thuram emerged this week as the most likely signing for Inter to complete the multi-part replacement of Romelu Lukaku who recently joined Chelsea for €115 million.

Edin Dzeko was signed to add extra quality to the squad but another player is needed to ensure there is depth.

It appeared to be a straight race between Marcus Thuram and Lazio’s Joaquin Correa but the injury to the Frenchman and the comments from his manager now suggest that he will not be going anywhere.
