Lazio forward Joaquin Correa is now looking much more likely to sign for Inter this summer than Marcus Thuram is after there was a twist in the saga, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the potentially serious knee injury that Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram suffered in the match against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday evening means he is likely to stay in Germany for another season.

This has put Joaquin Correa back in pole position to be the man that Inter make an official offer for to help be part of the replacement for Romelu Lukaku who left for Chelsea.

Edin Dzeko has already been signed and made an excellent start to his Inter career by scoring against Genoa on Saturday, but one more quality forward is needed in order to create a good rotation of strikers around Lautaro Martinez.
