Legendary former striker Antonio Cassano believes that Lazio’s Joaquin Correa would be an ideal signing for Inter in their search for a striker before the end of the transfer window.

Speaking to the Bobo TV Twitch stream, as reported by FCInterNews, the forward, formerly of Inter, Roma, Real Madrid, Sampdoria, and a number of other clubs, gave his view on how the Nerazzurri could complete their summer transfer window.

The 39-year-old believes that the Nerazzurri are on the right track, but sees Correa as the missing piece to make their attack click under head coach Simone Inzaghi.

Inter are targeting Correa and will hope that they can reunite the Argentine with Inzaghi, with whom he worked successfully while the pair were at Lazio together, before the transfer window shuts.

As Cassano explains, in signing Correa they could achieve the right chemistry to become an attacking force under the Italian tactician.

The former striker explained, “Inter are still Conte’s team, I liked them because they attacked, attacked, attacked. They made it clear at Genoa that they would go for it.”

“At the transfer market level,” he continued, “Inter was ready. After the unexpected event with Eriksen, they brought in a player perhaps not as goodas Eriksen, but who in any case on a free transfer was the best opportunity, in the form of Calhanoglu.”

He went on, “Then they has brought in a player that I like very much in Dzeko, he will certainly not make them regret losing Lukaku. He will probably score fewer goals, but he will not make them regret signing.”

On the Nerazzurri’s latest target, Cassano said that “Now they are moving for Correa – in my opinion he is perfect for Inzaghi’s idea, and they could get him for a good price.”

“He could play with Lautaro or even behind Dzeko,” he continued, “he’s perfect for that. Until the end Inter will be a teamin contention for the Scudetto along with Juve, in my opinion they remain among the favourites.”
