Inter could look to bring in Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca after completing the signing of Lazio forward Joaquin Correa before the transfer window shuts.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, via FCInter1908, who report that the signing of Correa is the priority right now but that after his arrival is wrapped up Scamacca could be brought in as a deptuy to Edin Dzeko.

The Nerazzurri are inching towards a deal with Lazio over Correa, with the club ready to supplement their €30 million offer with add-ons or offer a percentage of future resale proceeds on the player to convince the Biancocelesti on a deal.

Their summer business would not necessarily be concluded with a deal for Correa, however, and CEO Beppe Marotta is considering a late swoop for Scamacca.

Scamacca would be seen as a backup for Dzeko, and would allow Lautaro Martinez to play in his more natural second striker position rather than deputizing for the Bosnian, and would give Simone Inzaghi room to be patient with the injured Alexis Sanchez.
