Inter could part ways with Alexis Sanchez over the Chilean’s injury struggles and high salary, despite the player being seen as an important player by the club.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the Nerazzurri could allow the 32-year-old to depart, although no serious offers for him have come in.

Sanchez will return imminently to the Nerazzurri’s training centre, having been in Barcelona receiving an assessment on a calf injury which has kept him out for much of the the summer.

The Chilean’s future is still not clear thanks to the persistent injury, though he is expected to be ready to make a return to the pitch sometime next month.

Sanchez is still considered an important contributor and the club want to continue with him, although given that he could be considered unreliable if his injury problems persist, and he is one of the top earners at the club on around €7 million net per season, he could still be sacrificed.
