Inter are waiting for wing-back Valentino Lazaro to agree on a move to Benfica, with the two clubs having agreed on a deal.

This according to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, who reported in a tweet that the Portuguese giants are all ready to sign Lazaro, but that the player’s approval is needed for the move to go through.

Lazaro has been expected to depart from the Giuseppe Meazza this summer, with the 25-year-old not a part of Simone Inzaghi’s plans going forward and never having established a place for himself since his arrival from Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2019.

The 25-year-old has spent the past s
eason and a half on loan, with Newcatle United and then Borussia Monchengladbach, and he could be set for a move to the Portuguese capital for next season.

Lazaro is expected to accept the Portuguese giants’ offer, and while other clubs have showed interest it is Benfica who have come to an agreement with Inter and they are poised to win the chase for his signature.

Longari tweeted: “#Inter are still waiting for Valentino #Lazaro despite the agreement reached with the #Benfica. The go-ahead is awaited from the player concerned for the conclusion of the deal. Other clubs interested too but no concrete offers apart from the #Benfica .@tvdellosport
