Inter attacker Alexis Sanchez is hopeful of making a return to the pitch for Inter as soon as possible, and he is happy with the progression of his recovery from a calf injury.

Speaking to Chilean broadcaster Mega, as reported by FCInterNews, the 32-year-old opened up about his recovery process and condition, and reaffirmed his commitment to the Nerazzurri and his desire to make a major contribution on the pitch.

Sanchez has been struggling with a persistent calf injury for much of the summer, with the Chilean having been ruled out of participating in all but 45 minutes of the Copa America with his country, and he has already missed Inter’s Serie A opener against Genoa on the weekend.

The forward will also be ruled out of the Nerazzurri’s next match, against Hellas Verona on Friday, but after that it is not entirely clear when he will return.

For his part, the player is optimistic and is working hard so that he can make his return to the pitch soon after the international break.

“My recovery is starting to go a little better,” he explained, “I will train with Inter and we’ll see what happens.”

As to his feelings at his current club, the Chilean made clear that he is still committed, stating that “I’m very happy, I want to come back.”
