Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti is happy to be joining Empoli on loan, and believes that the Tuscan club are the right next step in his career.

The newly-promoted Serie A side sealed the dry loan move for the 22-year-old for the rest of the season today, and he is ready to show his best form and try to help them remain in the top flight in their first season back.

Pinamonti had been out of favour under Antonio Conte last season, though he still played his part in the Nerazzurri’s Scudetto win.

Not in the plans of Conte’s successor as head coach Simone Inzaghi either, the striker departs on loan to Empoli, who won the race for his signature ahead of a host of clubs in Italy and elsewhere in Europe, and he will try and show the kind of form that made him a regular starter when he was on loan at Genoa two seasons ago.

Pinamonti posted about his ambitions for the season and his feelings upon joining Empoli on his Instagram account:

“After a season with the Nerazzurri, culminating in the joy of becoming Italian Champions, I am ready and enthusiastic to start my new adventure.”
