New Inter signing Denzel Dumfries has given his thoughts on life at Inter in his first week and change since joining the club, and named his personal favourite Nerazzurri player as treble hero Wesley Sneijder.

Speaking in a live Q&A on Instagram, as reported by FCInterNews, the Dutchman spoke about being impressed by the atmosphere at his new club and life in Italy, where he moved from his native Netherlands to play for Inter.

Dumfries comes in as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi following the Moroccan’s sale to Paris Saint-Germain, and he already seems to be settling into life as a Serie A player well.

Little has been seen on the pitch from the 25-year-old in an Inter shirt, with his cameo appearance off the bench in the weekend’s Serie A opener against Genoa only a small taste of his talents.

However, he has the right attitude and is ready to show the kind of form that he displayed at PSV and for the Dutch national side, and which made the Nerazzurri want to go out and get him.

“Choosing Inter was very easy for me,” Dumfries stated of his decision to join the Nerazzurri, “It is a fantastic club with an incredible history.”

On the food in his new country, the Dutchman stated “I love Pizza Margherita, and of course, pasta.”

Dumfries appreciated the warm ovation that he received from Nerazzurri supporters during the Genoa match, stating that “For me it was a special moment.”

Asked who his most fun-loving teammates teammates are, he named “[third-choice goalkeeper Alex] Cordaz and [midfielder Nicolo] Barella, for me they are the funniest.”

As to why he chose the Number Two shirt number, Dumfries explained that “I chose Number Two because I was already wearing it at the beginning of my career at Sparta Rotterdam.”

“It was incredible, the atmosphere was exceptional,” the 25-year-old stated of his first experience of playing at home for the Nerazzurri, “The San Siro is a huge and impressive stadium.”

He continued that “I’m excited [to play in the Inter shirt], it’s an honour for me to defend these colours.”

On his favourite Inter player, the Dutchman named a countryman of his, stating that “My favourite is Wesley Sneijder. He accomplished amazing things here, and even won the Champions League.”

Asked about his best qualities on the pitch, Dumfries stated that “I work a lot for the team, and I have a lot of running. My goal is always to support my teammates.”
