Valentino Lazaro’s agent Max Hagmayr has given an update on the Austrian’s proposed move from Inter to Benfica, stating that the process of completing the signing is ongoing.

Speaking to the Austrian Press Agency news service, as reported by FCInterNews, the agent explained that the talks to take the 25-year-old to the Portuguese capital are continuing and that the intent is to find an agreement that would see him leave the Nerazzurri,

Lazaro is out of favour at Inter, having failed to really establish himself in the team since joining from Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2019, and a number of clubs have come forward with an interest in bringing him in this summer.

Portuguese giants Benfica appear to be well in pole position to win the race for his signature, however, and as the Austrian’s agent confirms, the negotiations to complete the switch to the Lisbon club who have just qualified for the Champions League group stage are well underway.

“We’re planning for the transfer,” Hagmayr confirmed, “The talks are ongoing.”
