Inter could miss out on attacking target Gianluca Scamacca, with Cagliari now ready to make a late push for the Sassuolo striker should they lose Giovanni Simeone to Hellas Verona.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Rossoblu will move for Scamacca should Simeone depart, with the Nerazzurri still tracking the 22-year-old.

Verona have also been closely following the Neroverdi striker during the last few days as an attacking reinforcement before the transfer window shuts, but they appear to have turned their attention towards Simeone for the role.

Should they decisively move to sign Simeone from Cagliari, the Sardinian side will look to quickly replace the Argentine, and Scamacca would be their preferred target.

It remains to be seen where Scamacca will ultimately end up playing his football for the rest of the season, but for now Inter face competition for his signature from within Serie A.
