Inter are still interested in Lazio centre-forward Felipe Caicedo, and could make a late push for the Ecuadorian who has rejected the interest of Genoa.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper la Repubblica, who report that Caicedo is still on the Nerazzurri’s radar and that they could make a late swoop for him as one final attacking reinforcement before the transfer window shuts.

With the departure of Andrea Pinamonti on loan to Empoli confirmed, a spot may have opened up in Inter’s forward line, and they are contemplating bringing Caicedo in.

The 32-year-old had been a target for the club earlier in the window, having experience with head coach Simone Inzaghi from their time together at the Biancocelesti, but they turned their attention to other attacking targets as their situation changed.

However, the club have not entirely stopped following the Ecuadorian, and with the player having rejected the first approach of Genoa who offered him a three-year contract but could still return for him, Inter could swoop for him before the transfer window slams shut.
