Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal wants to make a significant contribution to the Nerazzurri this season, and believes that he can show his best form at the club.

Speaking to Chilean broadcaster TNT Sport, as reported by FCInterNews, the Chilean international acknowledged that he was not able to consistently produce his best football last season, but stated his ambition to play at his best this campaign.

Vidal joined Inter last summer from Barcelona, and despite having initially been in the first-team plans under head coach Antonio Conte, he was not able to appear regularly due to fitness problems.

The 34-year-old has made a great start to this campaign, scoring and assisting a goal off the bench in the Nerazzurri’s season opener against Genoa over the weekend, and his aim is to impact games in this fashion on a consistent basis and to prove that he still belongs in an Inter shirt.

“I really wanted to wear the Inter shirt again,” the midfielder stated, “Last year I had several problems, so this year I will try to show my best and help the team do even better.”

He further stated, “I don’t know why the press insisted so much that I would leave since I always knew I would stay. I’ve always been calm and I’m preparing as best I can to give my best for the team.”
