Italian journalist Paolo Condo has given his verdict that Inter’s Champions League group is tough, but that they will be able to top it.

Speaking on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the journalist suggested that the Nerazzurri would be able to take spot in Group D, where they were drawn against the likes of Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Sheriff Tiraspol.

The Nerazzurri learned their group stage opponents for the Champione League earlier today during the UEFA group stage draw, and they will be up against two of their group stage opponents from last season, Real Madrid and Shakhtar.

Additionally, they are set to face Champions League debutants Sheriff Tiraspol, who have come through the qualification round as the first Moldovan champions to play in Europe’s top competition.

“I rate Inter’s group as a 6.5, because Shakhtar is tough as a third team. There were easier teams for them to face. Inter and Real, logically, are the favourites, but with De Zerbi, the victory won’t come easy.”

Condo compared the Nerazzurri’s situation to that of rivals Juventus, whose group contains Chelsea, Zenit, and Malmo.

“Inter have a more difficult group overall than Juventus, but paradoxically they have more chances of winning their group.”
