Inter’s opponents for the group stages of the Champions League have been officially drawn.

The group stage draw which concluded moments ago confirmed that the Nerazzurri will play in Group D and will face off against Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Sheriff Tiraspol.

The Nerazzurri came into the draw seeded in Pot One, having won the Scudetto.

From Pot Two, they are set to face La Liga runners-up Real Madrid, who have won the competition more than any other team including four times in the last decade.

From Pot Three, they will come up against Ukrainian Premier League runners-up Shakhtar Donetsk, who they have faced in Europe during the past two seasons, once in the semi-finals of the 2019-20 Europa League and then last season in the Champions League group stage.

From Pot Four, the Nerazzurri will face Moldovan champions Sheriff Tiraspol, who are making their debut in the competition after progressing to the group stage past Dinamo Zagreb in the playoff round.

Inter will play each of these three teams twice, once home and once away, with the dates and times for each fixture yet to be announced, and the top two sides from then group will progress to the knockout round of the competition.
