1982 World Cup winner Dino Zoff thinks that Juventus and Inter are the favourites for the league title this season.

Speaking in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the 79-year-old Italian commented on which teams he thinks will have the advantage in the title race this season.

“Juventus and Inter are the most likely to win the Scudetto. A step below is AC Milan, Napoli, Atalanta and the Romans.”

The former Juventus shot stopper was not surprised by the nature of Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from the Bianconeri this week.

“It’s obvious he wanted to change, his expectations weren’t met in his seasons at Juventus, I don’t think it depends on Allegri’s return.

“Then I don’t know if Manchester United can really compete to win the Champions League. But champions condition the market for them, Juventus couldn’t do much.”

Finally, Zoff highlighted that he doesn’t think that Juventus need to worry about losing such a proven goalscorer.

“I believe that Allegri already has excellent solutions in attack. And someone will arrive to complete the squad.

“That’s why I say the Bianconeri are still favourites.”

Coach Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus disappointed in their first game of the season, drawing 2-2 with fellow Bianconeri Udinese. The match ended painfully, with Ronaldo’s last minute winner being called off for offside, which would have been his last goal with the club.

The first Derby d’Italia of the season will take place on 24th October, with the return match being played on 3rd April 2022.
