Inter forward Joaquin Correa was overjoyed with his debut following his brace against Hellas Verona last night.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Inter TV (via FcInterNews) last night, the 27-year-old Argentinian forward first discussed his emotions following such a debut.

“I didn’t dream of such a debut, it was great. Giving my contribution was very nice and I’m happy.”

He touched on how he feels following the final whistle.

“I feel very good, I prepared well before coming here and I’m happy to have contributed today to winning this match.

“Thanks to my teammates who have helped me in these two days.”

The former Lazio and Sevilla forward commented on how quick he adapted to the Nerazzurri environment.

“Yes, immediately. As soon as I arrived they made me feel like something more and that helps a lot.

“They make you feel good so you can fit in as quickly as possible.”

Correa discussed how he felt whilst on the pitch.

“I got on well and we still have time to get to know each other. I think we will get on very well though.

“We all have the goal of taking Inter to the top.”

He confirmed that he doesn’t have a preferred position.

“No, I’m a second striker who rotates around someone else but I can also be a main striker.

“I like to move around the pitch and try to make my teammates play well.”

The 27-year-old Argentinian forward highlighted how he felt the affection of the fans.

“Yes, right from the start. I also met the fans on the street who asked me to come to Inter and dream together.

“I’m really happy with the way they’ve welcomed me.”

The former Lazio forward spoke about Matteo Darmian’s assist to him.

“Perfect. He did everything, I just put my head in. He made an incredible run, he ran for the whole game so congratulations to him.”

Finally, Correa spoke highly about coach Simone Inzaghi, who was desperate to sign the player from the Biancocelesti.

“Inzaghi wanted me a lot, he knows me, he knows what I can give him. We’ve experienced a lot of things together, we’ve suffered a lot and had some beautiful joys.

“I will continue to try to give him my best.”

The 27-year-old Correa signed from Lazio on a deal worth around €31 million in total. Last season under Inzaghi in Rome, the 27-year-old scored eight goals and provided four assists in 28 league appearances.
