Former AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini thought that Inter held the advantage over Juventus.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN (via L’Interista) earlier today, the 44-year-old Italian commented on the battle between the two sides for the league title this season.

“Inter are a project that continues after Conte, Juventus are just starting to emerge.

“It’s hard to understand where the players have to play. At the level of quality, Inter have a superior midfield.”

Inter have had a strong start to the season under coach Simone Inzaghi, with a 4-0 win over Genoa in their opening game before beating Hellas Verona 3-1 on Friday.

Juventus, on the other hand, have not started the season well. Massimiliano Allegri oversaw a disappointing 2-2 draw against Udinese in the opening game, before being shocked at home by Empoli 1-0 yesterday.

The first Derby d’Italia this season will take place on 24th October, with the return game being scheduled for 3rd April 2022, in a game that could prove key in the race for the league title this season.

Despite the departures of Antonio Conte, Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi, Inter still look strong under Inzaghi and could surprise many this season by retaining their Scudetto.
