Former AC Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo did not think that Lazio fans would be missing Inter coach Simone Inzaghi too much.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN (via FcInterNews) ahead of the Biancocelesti’s 6-1 win over Spezia, the 36-year-old Italian discussed Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi.

“We know Simone Inzaghi and they know him in Rome. He’s off to a good start but Lazio fans can smile with Sarri, who is an international coach and makes his teams play well. He will do very well.

“Thiago Motta was a great midfielder, as a coach he will bring his focus and vision of the game. In the first game they played openly, I think they will do the same today.”

Motta’s Spezia failed to impress in their match against Lazio, losing 6-1 in the Stadio Olimpico despite taking an early advantage.

Lazio, like Inter, have started their season well under new coach Maurizio Sarri, despite the departures of Simone Inzaghi and Joaquin Correa to Inter this summer.

The pair have done well since moving to Milan. The 45-year-old Italian coach has guided the team to two wins in their opening games, with the 27-year-old Argentinian forward scoring a brace in only 16 minutes on the pitch.

Inter’s next game of the season is against Sampdoria on 12th September, after the upcoming International break.
