Inter forward Alexis Sanchez has stayed at the training ground in Pinetina in order to continue his recovery.

As reported in today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport, the 32-year-old Chilean forward is working to recovery from a muscle injury that has forced him to miss the opening two games of the season against Genoa and Hellas Verona.

The former Arsenal man underwent a few days of physical therapy in Barcelona and returned to Milan a week ago.

He’s feeling better and wants to return in time for the next Serie A clash against Sampdoria, which will kick off on the weekend of 11-12th August, after the international break.

Inter gave the squad a four-day rest following the win over Hellas Verona, but Sanchez has remained at Pinetina in order to ensure his recovery progresses well.

The possibility of him recovering is also why Inter’s management are not looking to sign another forward, with youngster Martin Satriano being kept in the squad as the fifth choice striker.
