Inter’s possible future replacements for Samir Handanovic include Ionut Radu, Filip Stankovic and Gabriel Brazao.

As reported in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the 37-year-old Slovenian shot stopper is still the Nerazzurri’s number one but his recent mistake against Hellas Verona highlighted that the veteran will soon be on his way out, with his contract expiring next year.

Inter are now monitoring a variety of players as they begin the search for a new number one.

The Nerazzurri have been offered Ajax’s Andre Onana several times, but the Milanese club haven’t made a decision on him yet. His contract expires with the Dutch club next year in 2022 as well.

Another idea is the 24-year-old Ionut Radu, who is currently Handanovic’s backup. The Romanian already has 53 appearances in Serie A and impressed at the Under-21 2019 European Championship.

Inter have younger options as well, like 20-year-old Brazilian Brazao. The goalkeeper recently ruptured his cruciate ligament but he has potential and Julio Cesar even spoke highly of the player. Finally there’s the 19-year-old Stankovic, who has a lot of fans who believe in his potential.

Other top options being monitored include Cagliari’s Alessio Cragno and Napoli’s Alex Meret.
